Synchro Swim Manitoba is proud to partner with:

Provincial Team - Canada Winter Games

Developing Talent Program

SSM is hiring an Assistant Coach/Manager for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Click HERE for the job posting and description.

Applications must be submitted to execdirector@synchromb.ca to the attention of

the Selection Committee no later than March 9, 2018.

The 2019 Canada Winter Games will be held in Red Deer, Alberta in February 2019.

Synchro Swim Manitoba will be sending 10 athletes, 1 Head Coach and 1 Assistant Coach/Manager to the Games.

Selection for the CWG Team will take place on Friday April 13, 2018 at Pan Am Pool. A DRAFT schedule can be found here.

To try out, athletes must be a current (2017-18 Season) registered National Stream athlete in good standing with SSM and age eligible for Games:

 - Competitors 21 years of age or under as of December 31, 2019.

 - Competitors 15 years of age or over as of December 31, 2019.

 - Year of Birth: 1998-2004 inclusive.

The CWG Team Trials consists of 2 parts:

1) Individual Technical Elements - worth 50% of the total score/results

2) Routine Component - worth 50% of the total score/results

Trials routine will be the Synchro Canada 13-15 National team Trials from 2016/2107 season. All athletes and Head Coaches of eligible athletes had this information and routine video and counts since late 2017.

Scores from the trials for both elements and routine will not be flashed.  The results will be reviewed after the competition for accuracy by the Canada Winter Games Management Committee. Results and the Top 10 CWG Team will be announced within 7 days of the trials.

Athletes ranking 11 & 12 will be invited to train with the CWG Team for the duration of the training - but will not attend the Games or receive associated Team Toba "Gear".  This is an excellent opportunity to access additional training and development.  It is also very important as Games past, we have had injuries within the Top 10 that have seen a need to bring up the next ranking swimmers into Games. This is certainly not a guarantee or something that we want but need to prepare for such a case.

Full details about the Trials, Selection Procedure, Eligibility, Management Committee, solo and duet selection, naming of 8 to swim, appeals, dismissal from the Team and unforeseen circumstances can be found in the SSM 2019 CWG Selection Policy. Further questions can be directed to Allison Gervais, SSM's Executive Director at execdirector@synchromb.ca.
